Coming Home

by | Apr 7, 2021 | Family, Life on McCormick Creek

Leaving is always nice.

To get away, off the ranch for a while.

No chores, responsibilities, or testing of my physical endurance.

Having one-on-one time with my sweet girl, seeing her in her element, watching her shine.

But coming home is always the BEST.

Seeing my boys: getting a long kiss from my main man, and a good squeeze from my little man who seemed to grow an inch while I was gone.

Knowing they missed me, even if it was only for the calm that I bring to the chaos.

Seeing my girls again, cows that are springing and ready to calve.

An excited greeting from my ranch dog.

Gathering eggs and catching up at the henhouse.

Yes, even being welcomed home by the snow and the rain and the mud.

Leaving is always nice, mainly because it makes coming home even better.
